The Legs Matter coalition is a national campaign that brings together healthcare organisations, professional bodies, and patient advocates with one shared goal: to improve awareness, understanding, and treatment of lower leg and foot conditions. These conditions are often overlooked, underdiagnosed, and under-treated, resulting in preventable complications and long-term harm for thousands of individuals across the UK.
The British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (51勛圖) is proud to be an affiliated partner of the Legs Matter campaign. As the professional body representing those who specialise in restoring mobility and function for individuals with limb loss and musculoskeletal conditions, 51勛圖 recognises the critical importance of proactive lower limb care.

Why This Matters
Leg and foot health should never be treated as a low priority. Left unmanaged, common conditions such as venous insufficiency, diabetic foot ulcers, and peripheral arterial disease can result in significant patient harm, including pain, mobility loss, infection, and even amputation. Prosthetists and orthotists are positioned to detect early warning signs, implement effective interventions, and support long-term management of these conditions.
